Destroying the world as we know it in order to save the world as we know it.
Our current political, economic, and ecological systems are deeply unsustainable. The status quo poses unique challenges for creative thinking and impact-oriented work.
Inaction is not an option - it's time to dismantle and rebuild.
Inaction is not an option - it's time to dismantle and rebuild.
The Problems:
- Students, researchers, practitioners, and scientists conducting interdisciplinary environmental work face many institutional barriers in meeting individual and collective goals, these include:
- lack of funding and resources
- lack of appropriate educational opportunities
- lack of communication across disciplines
- unrewarded community engagement
- Those passionate about this field often forge ahead without a community of likeminded peers and mentors who can help guide, support, and collaborate on environmental work
Our Solution:
We have created a community where interdisciplinary environmental students, researchers, practitioners, and scientists can:
- Collaborate on projects
- Lend expertise to peers
- Troubleshoot challenges of all sizes - code bugs, methodological questions, communication with disciplinary colleagues, etc.
- Share funding resources
- Share professional resources - conference opportunities, job postings, interview tips, etc.
- Seek support for institutional, systematic, and interpersonal issues
Who We Are
We are a group of global graduate students creating an informal network for thinkers to connect about interdisciplinary environmental learning and working experiences. We got our start in a Beyond the Academy workshop, funded by National Academies Keck Futures Initiative.
